This is when cops arrest the alleged boss of an international pedophile gang after he is found in hiding in Mexico City.

Nelson Maatman, 27, was caught near a train station in the Mexican capital on Sunday June 5.

According to local authorities, Maatman was caught in possession of a firearm, cocaine and electronic devices containing child pornography.

Mexico City Attorney General Ernestina Godoy said Maatman had been identified as the alleged leader of an international pedophilia and child pornography ring.

Maatman founded the Party for Neighborhood Love, Freedom and Diversity (PNVD), a political party in the Netherlands which is not represented in the Dutch Parliament, which supports the idea that laws should be introduced to authorize sexual relations with minors from the age of 12.

Commonly referred to as the ‘pedopartij’ (‘pedo party’) by the Dutch media, the organization advocates for the legalization of child pornography and for the lowering of the age of consent.

Between 2014 and 2021, the suspect allegedly ran a website that pushed for the legalization of sex with minors, claiming that they are able to decide for themselves if they want to engage in sex.

Police raided a house in the Mexico City neighborhood of Gustavo A. Madero where the suspect resided and seized cell phones, USB drives, laptops and hard drives containing child pornography content, authorities said.

Maatman was arrested in his home country in February 2020 and found in possession of over 10,000 pornographic images of minors.

He appeared in court in June 2020 and was allowed to argue his case without remaining in police custody.

Despite being told to stay in the Netherlands, the suspect is believed to have fled the country and was declared a fugitive in February 2022 after missing a court date.

The Mexican authorities were informed of his presence in the country by members of the association Free a Girl based in the Netherlands.

The foundation called on the Mexican authorities to reject the suspect’s request for political asylum.

Evelien Holsken, spokesperson for Free a Girl, said, “We are impressed with the skill and dedication of the Mexico City police in protecting children from these types of predators.

“We are very relieved that he has been arrested for posing a grave danger to children in Mexico.”

It is currently unclear if and when the suspect will be extradited to the Netherlands. But Mexico and the Dutch government have an extradition treaty that also includes sexual offenses.
